Student Volunteers from St. Xavier's College with Children

  • Volunteer workers who are individuals and Students from city Schools and Colleges assist in carrying out the activities conducted by the Pavement Club & Pavement School.

  • Volunteers who attend during Pavement School hours assist children in their studies. Thereby children are given individual help to cope with their studies.

  • During Pavement Club on Friday evenings, college students and other individuals with a desire to help perform various chores that arise from catering to more than 200 children in an evening.

  • Most of the volunteers come from well-to-do homes. Yet, young lady volunteers oil and comb the hair of small girls. School boys carry buckets of water for the children to have a bath. The elite School and College students arrange to put up skits or drama or dances to entertain the street children. Food is served by relay and the plates are then washed and dried by all the volunteers. All this is part of their Social Service Programme.
